Who is The Script Whisperer?
Ian Swann R.A.D.A. (dip), has been at the cutting edge of his profession for over thirty years. After a number of seasons with the The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, Ian trained at the RADA London. Contemporaries of his of that era, included the likes of Tim Spall, Juliet Stephenson, Mark Rylance, Paul McGann and later, Kenneth Branagh, and Ralph Fiennes. All had the same tutors, voice and dialect coaches and were lucky enough to experience the same training process.
Over his career Ian has also been fortunate enough to work across all media, from theatre to television, film to commercials. His multi-international award winning voice work, has been heard internationally in TV and radio commercials as well National Channel 4 TV continuity, PC gaming, animations and conferences. Agents past and present have valued his skills enough, to be able to send him in as a vocal ‘fixer’ when a difficult client wants something that has alluded them so far. As a colleague once said, ‘Ian has the ears of a bat’.
Over his career, Ian has worked with some of the best directors in the business, from George Lucas in the Star Wars franchise and two separate series with Stephen Poliakoff, to John Ridley who wrote ‘12 Years a Slave’, and Terry Winsor of ‘Party Party' fame.
Ian was recently nominated for another VOX Award, to add to his list, which started with The Patrick Wymark Memorial Prize, while he was at RADA. It is this training and experience over his career that he feels he can impart to others. To help those who need a helping hand with their script delivery, from a true working professional.
